Rachel Girardi wanted to comment on my previous post, but was temporarily overwhelmed by the technological requirements to do so, so she called and gave me her comment, which I will now post below:
"Erin I was going to tell you that I always get really mad at the people in the city who ignore the walk/don't walk signals"
It's true. Because while she was on the phone with me she was driving in DC (it is against the law to talk on the phone while driving unless you are hands-free, I might add) and I heard her honk very loudly and for quite some time at a walk-signal-ignoring-kindred in Dupont Circle.
