Today My Heart Is Big and Sore (Thanks, Patty Griffin)

Nina: "We both need to take up cigarettes. What are you doing tonight? Can you treat yourself to some sort of indulgence?"

Erin: "I am going caroling at an old folks home tonight. Does that count?"

Nina: "For you, yes."

-----------------------------------------------------
Let's see if I can get through this one without crying:

O Come, O Come Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
Who mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice Rejoice
Emmanuel will come to thee O Israel

(Yeah Right)

-----------------------------------------------------

And Nina was right - As usual. Giving and loving is such good therapy. Also there was a therapy dog there. Kris owns a sweet, old yellow lab therapy dog!

Brad took a bunch of fun pics. The lovely ladies below were full of so much joy. Although OK I did happen to witness one woman fight with all her might against the nurse who was trying to turn her wheelchair to face us. She was not into the caroling. Shoot, girl, that's cool. We were warned that the women of the 3rd floor would be a tough crowd. It didn't matter to me - I liked them so much!

Love the old people. I get to work with the retirement home in two weeks...they really are good for the soul!
