The Power of Life and Mystery

God is a mystery. The more I get to know Him, the more I find this to be true. The deeper I grow with Him, the more my idea of Him expands, and the more I realize my futility and his expanse. The most recent obsession I have in observing life and God and truth is the notion that opposite entities are not mutually exclusive. These opposite things do not exist 'one way or the other.' Rather the opposite concepts coexist 100% and complement one another. The most palpable examples in my life recently are these twin sets:
Deep Sorrow and Deep Joy
Beauty and Agony
Sweetness and Ache
Peace and Angst
Questions and Answers
Hilarity and Pain

July has brought sunshine, fireworks (literally and in my heart), a new nephew (Drew!), a 52nd street surprise, the promise of a Cape Town homecoming, much laughter and lots of tears. I am navigating the deaths of two very special people in my precious inner circle of intimate relationships. The two passings from physical life to infinite life couldn't be more different from one another. Both have given me pause, are teaching me of the rich nature of relationship, and increasing the mystery of God. As I submit to God's mystery, I move forward the recipient of much peace and gratefully observe my faith increase. I trust Him with the unanswered because I know Him and I love Him. He is God Above and yet also He is God Among. He is the Author and Perfecter, but He is also Jesus who weeps with us. He is both Immutable (Hebrews 13:8) and Moved (John 11:33,38)

In the finite and the logical it is difficult to believe that opposite notions coexist and that God can be opposite things and yet the same thing all at once. And yet God is infinite, and so perhaps in His mystery He can be whatever He wants and it works.

TRUE.
I have been thinking much about the same thing as I have navigated through some difficult situations recently.
Praying for you and your heart as you heal and grieve, but also CELEBRATE life and love knowing Christ.
