I Started a Blog on Labor Day

I celebrated Labor Day today as one unemployed. Umm, it was awesome. I slept in late, layed on the beach for five hours (Mmmm) where I read, slept, and talked on the phone to Shannon Kelley Sturgill. She is a pure delight. Anyway, then I came home, checked email and facebook (embarassing, but true), decided to affix my new basket to my beach cruiser with a pretty pink ribbon and went for a lovely bike ride, just cause. Next I googled "start a blog" and taa daaaaa! Here we are.

(Hey! This is a pic of le Honda, during le move. I find it lovely and appropriate that this picture was snapped at a WaWa. Love the WaWa.)

For what it's worth, I am currently in some real pain because of the Rock N Roll Half Marathon yesterday. [I mean, blogs are so weird - why do you care if I am sore?] Haaaaaaa, I puttered clumsily along the sand with beach chair and tote in hand because of quads that feel like lead and copious amounts of blisters on both feet. What a scene.

And finally the blog... I once overheard a man in a tattoo parlor (really random and kind of absurd, I know) say this phrase "well, there's always hope." And ya know, he's right. I never saw his face, don't know his name, but I did hear his voice. And since 'hope' is my favorite word, I thought there is no better title for this blog. So here I find myself embarking on this new chapter wherein I am evidently now a 'blogger.' New chapter! Anyway, this blog owes its title to the unnamed hope man. Thanks, man in the tattoo parlor - what a gift you have given.
