Volterra

Thes pictures are from a day trip to Volterra while I was in Florence. This was a crazy cool town tucked up in the mountains of Tuscanny. Pretty untouched by the tourist thing. It seemed pretty old time and authentic in a lot of ways.

OK there was a torture museum there. Creepy, right? I couldn't even go too close, but I saw this chair and it almost made me cry thinking about the fact that someone had to sit in it, and also that people forced them to sit in it and watched them suffer. We are a sick race, humans. The same type crap goes on today and it really is upsetting, I think. Probably I should be motivated to act against modern-day torture rather than to tear up about medeival torture.. hmm...

In contrast to the torture rack - flowers.

Laundry.

The Tuscan countryside.
