Today I experienced perhaps the most unexpected, generous kindness I have ever received from a stranger. It has given me pause and fortified my desire to be giving. I still can't quite believe it ... and then I think of the ebenezers in my life and somehow I am not surprised.
Beneath the bright blue sky and picture-perfect, sunshine-y spring day, I choked out to this man as he got into his Mercedes to drive away, "You are being so kind to me. Thank you."
